Value Recovery with accountable IT asset disposition

A technology refresh, consolidation, or facility change can leave more than surplus computers. Servers, storage, networking, mobile devices, displays, printers, parts, and data-bearing drives may need different outcomes. We evaluate the equipment stream for Value Recovery, then coordinate disposition and applicable records around the agreed service.

Value Recovery

Retired business technology may still have resale value. eLake offers direct purchasing and resale on your behalf for qualifying equipment.

Fair Market Value Assessment
Review qualifying equipment by model, configuration, condition and current buyer demand.
Equipment Grading
Assess equipment condition and resale suitability.
IT Asset Remarketing
Connect qualifying computers, servers, networking equipment and related technology with resale channels.
Value Recovery Settlement
Provide an agreed purchase offer or recovery settlement for equipment sold on your behalf.

Why choose eLake

You get one clear path for equipment value and responsible retirement instead of separating reusable assets from the rest without a documented closeout. eLake can coordinate purchasing or resale on your behalf for qualifying equipment, alongside data handling, recycling, and disposition records where agreed.

Value Recovery

Qualifying equipment may be purchased directly or offered for resale on your behalf, helping identify a practical recovery path for mixed technology.

Documented disposition

Agreed projects can include an Asset Inventory Manifest, Disposition Report, Chain of Custody Record, and applicable recycling or destruction records.

Data-aware retirement

For applicable data-bearing equipment, confirmed wiping/media sanitization or physical destruction can be paired with Erasure Proof and a Certificate of Data Destruction.

Asset recovery for Detroit organizations

From our Livonia headquarters, eLake coordinates Detroit-area projects for organizations retiring mixed technology after refreshes, relocations, consolidation, or a server-room change. The focus is practical: identify equipment that may support Value Recovery, separate data-bearing assets for the agreed service, and keep the disposition path understandable.

Whether the project involves a few pallets of business equipment or a broader enterprise retirement, pickups and logistics can be coordinated around the site and equipment profile. You can discuss direct purchasing or resale on your behalf for qualifying items, with agreed records supporting the closeout.

Common questions

Can eLake buy our retired equipment directly?

Potentially, for qualifying equipment. Value Recovery may use direct purchasing or resale on your behalf after reviewing the equipment mix, condition, and applicable data requirements. Not every lot has recovery value,.

Do you handle more than office computers?

Yes. The service can address mixed business and enterprise technology, including servers, storage, networking, phones, tablets, monitors, printers, parts, cables, racks, UPS, and PDUs, subject to the agreed project scope.

What records can support the disposition closeout?

For an agreed service, applicable records may include a Certificate of Data Destruction, Certificate of Recycling, Disposition Report, Asset Inventory Manifest, Chain of Custody Record, Erasure Proof, and ESG reporting.

How does data handling fit with asset recovery?

Data-bearing equipment can be directed to wiping/media sanitization or physical destruction, with applicable Erasure Proof or destruction documentation. NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 is used as guidance.
