A documented path from retired infrastructure to final disposition

Whether you are closing a server room, consolidating facilities or replacing part of an environment, eLake can coordinate the retirement of the equipment in scope. The service connects physical removal with data handling, potential asset value and customer-ready records, so stakeholders can understand what left the site and how it was handled.

Data Center Equipment Removal

A project can cover selected retired equipment or a larger server-room clearance. The included infrastructure and removal arrangements are agreed with your team.

Rack & Equipment Inventory
Identify included servers, storage, switches, racks, UPS equipment and related infrastructure.
Server & Storage Removal
Arrange removal of retired compute, storage and associated hardware.
Network Equipment Removal
Arrange removal of switches, routers, firewalls and related communications equipment.
Project Removal Plan
Each project is coordinated around the site’s approved access, equipment status, and removal requirements.

Data-center retirement for Detroit organizations

From its Livonia headquarters, eLake coordinates Detroit-area projects for organizations retiring a complete server room, consolidating infrastructure or clearing only a defined equipment group. You can discuss site access, equipment categories and the desired project boundary without treating a partial retirement as a full decommissioning.

The same service can address enterprise hardware and supporting equipment together: servers and storage for disposition, networking for removal, drives for data handling, and racks, UPS or PDUs as part of the retired infrastructure. Pickup and logistics can be coordinated around the project; collection arrangements reflect the project requirements.

Our process

From your first conversation to documented project closeout.

  1. Define the retirement

Share the server-room or infrastructure areas, equipment categories and whether the project is complete or partial.

  2. Plan the disposition

Align removal, data-handling needs, potential Value Recovery and the records required for your organization.

  3. Remove and process equipment

Coordinate logistics for the agreed equipment, with Wiping / Media Sanitization or Physical Destruction for applicable data-bearing media.

  4. Receive project records

Review the agreed closeout documentation, which may include certificates, inventory, chain of custody, erasure proof and disposition reporting.

Common questions

Can the project cover only part of a data center?

No. The project can cover a complete server-room clearance or a defined portion of retired infrastructure. Describe the equipment and areas in scope so the service can be planned around your actual retirement need.

Can you handle only a few retired servers or storage systems?

Yes, a partial project may be appropriate when a refresh, consolidation or equipment change leaves selected servers, drives, storage or networking ready for disposition. The inquiry should identify the equipment categories and site requirements.

What records can be provided for data handling?

Applicable data-service records include Proof of Erasure or a Certificate of Data Destruction, along with a Chain of Custody Record. Equipment inventory and disposition reporting can be included separately for the wider retirement project.

Can retired data-center equipment have recovery value?

Qualifying equipment may be considered for Value Recovery through direct purchasing or resale on your behalf. Not every item has recovery value, and outcomes depend on the equipment and agreed disposition.
